Dd refusing to feed from right side

She's been favouring the left boob for a while but it has got worse as today she's refusing the right side point blank. She fusses and shrieks if I even put her anyway near it (have tried rugby ball hold so she might be tricked into thinking it was left boob and also lying down - with the same reaction). I have fast let down and she seems to be feeding very quickly at the moment. Some feeds only 10 or 15 minutes in total including the bobbing off, smiling and talking She's 20 weeks and having a little bit of food but not much. Seems to be putting on weight although I've only been weighing her with me on the scales so I can avoid the HV. Any idea what I can do about this or any suggestion as to why she's doing it? I'm going to end up very lopsided at this rate.

I had this exact problem with dd. I rang the NCT bf counselling line. They told me that if i wanted to feed her just off one side my body would adjust and produce all the milk she needed off one boob but to make sure I expressed just enough off the right side to keep the boob soft and comfy.

Luckily dd grew out of it quite quickly. I continued to offer her the right side and eventually she stopped protesting and the problem fixed itself.

The NCT line told me to relax about it as anxiety would make things worse for both of us.

Good luck, hth.

Thanks, just wanted to know if others had been through the same thing which obviously you have. dd being right pain in the a*e at the moment. It is lucky I'm bf as I'd be paranoid about the amount of milk she's taking otherwise. She is constantly distracted, coos at me during feeds (even at 3am) and pings on and off. I seem to remember ds being the same though even with formula and never taking the same amount at any one feed so hopefully that is just how my babies are........
