colief

I've just bought some colief for my 3 week old dd, however after reading the instructions it seems a bit of a nightmare to use. It says that it has to be put into the feed and left for half an hour. Now my dd is not into any sort of routine and I can't predict when she is going to want her feed, she goes all of a sudden. I can't then let her scream for half an hour.

Has anyone else had any experience of this? what did you do?

I want to give colief a go but when it's recommended to make up feeds fresh I don't see anyway round this.

What happens if you use it straight away without waiting? I assume it just doesn't work.

Thanks in advance

Why are u trying Coilef? Was it recommended by GP? Is it for suspected lactose intolerance??

Coilef breaks down the lactose in the milk which is why it needs to be mixed with milk 30 mins before feeding. Milk is on for up to an hour after making.

you could make up 2 at a time and store in the fridge as you could then add the colief in advance as per this method - when you use one of the two then make up another to replace it:

Make up the feed according to manufacturer?s instructions
Add 2 drops of Colief to warm formula
Store in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours and use within 12 hours of make-up
Warm to feeding temperature when needed and feed as normal.
Discard any unused formula.
