Does my 1yo drink too much milk?

Dd, just 1, starts nursery next week. I asked a few friends whose kids are at nursery what they do re milk and they all said their kids only had breakfast and bedtime milk by the time they went to nursery. My dd has milk at least 4 times a day - breastfeed when she wakes up and when she goes to bed and also mid morning and mid afternoon. My friends reckon the snack she'll be given mid morning and mid afternoon will compensate but I am worried she'll want milk. I'll talk to the nursery about this of course and see what they think and also ask them to give her milk if she appears to want it but I am a little stressed both about her maybe wanting milk and not getting it, but also because am I suppose to have got her onto just two milk feeds by now? (she turned 1 a couple of weeks ago).

Don't worry about it.

Dd3 is 15 months & feeds loads when I'm there ( incl 2 night feeds) and when I'm not she just has water/ food(won't take milk from any other source). The milk has decreased slightly since I went back to work at 11 months.

Are your friends whose babies are only on 2 milk feeds a day BF or FF? There's nothing wrong with 4 or more BF a day, you are not 'supposed' to cut down at any age- just do whatever suits you and your DD and keep offering healthy solids alongside BF. At 6-12 months, solid food is complementary rather than the main source of calories. Are you planning to express some milk for your DD?

the nursery may offer milk as part of snack time - why not ask them and find out.

p.s. both milk and water were on offer at ds's pre-school nursery

My DD nursery will offer milk at snack time. But you have to supply premade. Just ask them. I've seen very toddlers still on bottles when I visit. There is nothing wrong if it's what the LO wants.

She could have cows milk if she is 1 or you could supply breastmilk if you are able to express.
