Dr Brown Bottles - steriliser?

I want to use the Dr Brown Bottles for my baby that is due in March but i have found out that there is no steriliser for it and they are awkward to sterilise in other units. Anyone got any ideas or experience?

Thank you both. I couldnt see a steriliser on site and i emailed them and they said they didnt do one and couldnt recommend any as none where suitable. They told my just to boil them but a little unsure about doing that

I just used an ordinary Avent steam steriliser. You can only fit 4 bottles at a time because of all the extra bits, but it still works fine.

Sorry! Quick trigger finger!

We used an old Boots microwave steriliser. It won't much matter what you use, all the bits will get sterilised. Good bottles tho

I use the mothercare cold water steriliser with mine, with milton fast tablets it only takes 15mins and you can fit 5 dr brown bottles with all accessories at once - I also find it's much easier to wash these bottles in the dish washer than by hand, mine has a short 24 min cycle which leaves them sparkling, they are fantastic bottles - wish I had known about them before dd was born - 6 weeks of feeding hell before I discovered them in boots!

Thanks for all that. Ill go ahead and buy the bottles now that i know i can sterilise them. Thanks for all the help. Still think its pretty daft they dont have one for them but never mind

there is a microwave steriliser on the Bfree website which is also another name for the Dr Browns bottles. Bfree/Dr Browns steriliser . It fits 3 bottles and all their bits and pieces. It is £14.99

I used a Lindam steriliser - good size and was able to get 6 bottles and all the bits in.

samanthajm · 15/01/2006 23:27

Thanks. I saw the proper steriliser that takes the 3 bottles but may be better of with the other ones mentioned here as they take more. Thanks for all the advice been really helpful. By the way does anyone know if all bottle heaters take these bottles?

hi - I used to warm them using a lindham day and night feeding system - they fitted finem I just had to remove the narrow bottle adaptor. Just make sure you take out the venting system and lid before you heatthem or the milk all gets sucked out and goes everywhere this happened to me a few times in the night before I realsied

peaches27 · 12/03/2006 15:26

They fit in the Avent but you only get 4 in at a time. As they only take 4 mins in the microwave perhaps this isnt an issue though.

Have you read the thread about not sterilising? I am thinking of trying this.
