How much of a problem is it that 7mth old dd won't take any milk during the day?

Dd is bf, started blw a month or so ago and she has taken to solids really well (although has obv not read the blw book as sits and shouts to be spoonfed, sigh!). Anyway since starting them she has been less and less keen to bf in the day, will struggle, cry and occasionally bite if I try to offer a feed and she's not wanting it!

On a typical day she'll have had an early morning feed at say 5/6am, then it is quite possible for her to go to 6pm without another feed. I offer before and after naps, with limited success, try before meals when she is hungry but she'll refuse point blank then eat loads of food.

Come 6pm-ish she feeds loads and has a couple of feeds overnight too, so I think her milk intake is still pretty high overall, but I worry about lack of hydration in the day. I try to make sure she eats juicy fruit, has a drink of water, eats yoghurt etc.

Apart from it being a bit inconvenient to me that she prefers to eat overnight rather than during the day, should I be worrying about this? I spend a lot of time wrestling with her trying to feed, milk spraying around etc... Quite a pita actually, which I could do without if I thought it wasn't needed!

I wouldn't worry too much. My three boys were ebf until they were weaned onto solids. When i went back to work when they were each 8 months old they were still breast feed and dh just gave them water while i was at work. They were all fine.

Night feeding is a pain though, not sure what to suggest. I gave up breastfeeding ds3 because he seemed to be keeping me awake ALL night but he was 17 months old then.

My DD took hardly any milk at nursery from 8mo and stopped completely by 9mo. It's a PITA they made up for it during the night. But I don't think it does any harm.

Thank you! With dd1 I went back to work at 9mths and was just feeding mornings, nights, weekends etc. but we decided to give her formula during the day as she was still having 3-4 daytime feeds when I was around. I think she got maybe a mid am and a mid pm bottle. Seems pointless giving formula when I am here, but atm she's getting nothing! Should I just maybe try to give her more water?
