Why does defrosted breastmilk leave an icky residue in the bottle?

Does boobmilk which has been frozen and thawed always go a bit funny when heated up again? - ie leaves residue round sides of bottle and teat - and is this okay for baby's tummy?

that's probably just the fat.

I'm sure you give it a good shake before feeding the babe, but iirc it's just the natural fat in the milk.

I think it's the milk solids. I'm pretty sure even homogenised cow's milk needs a good shake or swirl before use.

The fact boobmilk isn't homogenised probably doesn't help, though.

I get this if I shake it rather than swirling. Also if I don't heat it enough it doesn't come together quite fully.

Its just the fat in the milk, the same way you get cream at the top of the bottle in full fat milk in the shops

Oh, and its the best bit for baby
