I fed ds during my 2nd pregnancy until he self weaned at about 16 months when I was about 4 months pregnant. When I had dd he asked to feed, but couldn't. It was like he had forgotten how.

My ds was 5mth when i fell pregnant with the twins.I managed to carry on feeding throughout the pregnancy. It was a little painful at times but i mangaed ok.
Towards the end it goes back to being more colostrum again in prep for the new baby and i found that ds wasnt so keen on this but still wanted to feed just not as much as he would have before.

I found I was much more thursty than before and drank heap and heaps of water. You may find you need to adjust your diet a little as well to cope with the extra demands on your body. I had days where i was just soooo hungry all the time.

DS fed as normal up until the twins were 2 weeks (he was 14mth) then decided he didnt want to 'fight' for boob space and so started drinking expressed from a beaker with the occasional 'mumma moo ju' usualy before bed and somtimes first thing (if the twins didnt get there first!). He is 20mth now and the 'mumma moo juice' is becoming less frequent in favour of the beaker(still ony expressed as he does not like cows milk).

No tips as I couldn't conceive while feeding but what an inspirational feeding journey akiwijinglebells!

Congratulations Wonky!

No tips on how to keep making milk as it's hormone driven a lot of mums' supply drops in preparation for making colostrum though it's not a given. Doesn't mean your toddler has to wean if this happens as it is perfectly possible to dry nurse if you/child wants to (I've bf through 2 pg inc. tandem nursing through the last one and my DDs have dry nursed from week 14-24/26 when colostrum came back in).

Kellymom.com has a huge section on bfing in pg and tandem nursing and I thoroughly recommend the book Adventures in Tandem Nursing.

I've literally just ordered adventures in tandem feeding book, sounds great read. So good to hear your stories. I've loved feeding my dd and really hope we can keep going as she is a real booby monster!! I'll drink lots of water, relax and see what happens. Thanks lovely mums.
