I expressed some milk this avo and there is a definite pink tinge to it...first times I've noticed it.

Don't think there's any bleeding, but me and ds are bing treated for thrush, that's why I'm expressing for a couple of days. Is this normal?

I don't know what it could be. I do know that my DD would never drink expressed milk that was 'off' in any way, so it's worth offering it.

It could be the expressing has been done at too high a suction and that has burst a capillary in the breast.

Just wanted to check though why you have been recommended to express whilst you are treated for thrush?

I've never heard of that recommendation before as you risk reinfection from the pump/bottles if they are steam sterilised/boiled after each use.

I haven't been advised to express, my nipples have been too sore to feed so I'm waiting until they have healed.

Ah ok had visions of renegade HCP Grin.

Just make sure then all pump parts/bottle parts are boiled/steam sterilised after every use/expression as thrush is not susceptible to cold water sterilisation (milton tablets or solution [or generic]) otherwise you can end up giving it back to yourself.

Have you seen these leaflets on Thrush and Nipple pain? The Thrush leaflet has lots of info on how to prevent reinfection from breast pads/bras/etc as well as the correct drug regimes to treat (just in case you do have a renegade HCP Wink).
