Have people seen the price hike in C&C RTF cartons?

We use the occasional carton of formula since I went back to work and I bought some yesterday and today.

Yesterday I bought some and they were priced at 54p and this morning I bought them and they were 62p. Thats something like a 12 - 14% (maths isn't my strong point) price increase overnight. I asked at the supermarket and got some weak response about it wasn't their responsibility. I asked Cow and Gate themselves and they blamed the supermarket. They said they would log my concerns.

I don't know why, but this has really angered me. Yes I know it's not the milk powder, but it's blantent abuse of Mums who need to feed their babies. Xmas Angry

is it stage one formula? or follow on?

There shoudln't be any deals or offers on stage one formula as that would incentivise FF. If there has been then thats a breach of the ban.

Follow on is different, but TBH you are just as well using stage one formula until they are one anyway. There is not medical reason for follow on milk other than the companies making it can advertise it. Until the ban on advertising came in there was no such thing as follow on milk.

I was using stage one, now we're using follow on. There wasn't an offer on it at all, it was just at that price.

But it's all the RTF cartons including the stage one stuff, I can understand 2 - 3p but 8p is just ridiculous.

Formula companies are out to make a profit. That's how capitalism works.

No more than the blatant abuse of anyone else who needs to eat whenever there's a price hike in, say, bread.

And of course powder manufacturers are out to make money - we live in a capitalist society.

Morrisons value tomatoes were 32p a tin last week, this week they are 39p. They're all it, think the supermarkets make up prices as they go along.
