Milk blister? Small lump on nipple.

I'm still feeding my 24 month DS, a fair bit when I'm not at work, and in general all is well. I've just got a slight niggling question and I wonder if anyone can help me:

About 5 months ago I had 2 milk blisters in succession. I let nature take its course for the first one, but the second was very painful during feeds, so I stuck a sterilised needle in just before a feed, and that cleared it up quickly. Anyway, I had the same sort of pain (discomfort might be a better word) building up for a few days about two weeks ago, and the level of pain now seems to have stabilised- It's not unbearable, and I'm feeding from that side as normal, but this time there's no obvious white milk-blister, just a small hardish lump under the skin.

I'm happy to keep feeding and I sort-of feel that time will take care of it, but is this sensible? Anyone with any advice? I feel fine, there's no redness or engorgement, and trying to express with warm water doesn't seem to do anything. Could it be an under-skin milk blister?

Hi, I had a similar lump but it was very painful. A La Leche League leader suggested I compress the breast while feeding. It changes the latch so that more boob goes in and there's less nipple contact. Thumb on top and index/ring fingers below said nipple. Good luck!

Thanks, I'll try that and see if it helps.
Do you remember how long it took to clear?
