Any advice for galactocele (milk cyst)?

Have been EBF my DD who is now 8 weeks old. Soon after the birth I noticed a non-painful lump in my right breast, doctor misdiagnosed mastitis and gave me antibiotics, which only succeeded in giving me thrush.

Then asked the health visitor if she could arrange for me to see the breastfeeding specialist, but she refused and said I should see the doctor again ( fair enough but would still like to see the bfs too!). Doctor then referred me to breast clinic where I have been today. Had an ultrasound scan and they diagnosed a galactocele and managed to draw off most of the blocked milk, although a smaller non milky lump remains which I need to go back to have a biopsy, trying not to worry about that....

Anyway, I wondered if anyone has also had a galactocele and any advice to stop it reappearing? I assume you treat as a blocked duct? Do they go away on their own after breastfeeding? I'm not planning on stopping bf anytime soon.

Thanks

I had one, gp thought it was 'breast mouse' (benign cyst) as it could be moved about and referred me to breast clinic on a low priority basis to have it checked out.

It had to be aspirated because of a dark area in the ultrasound to check the cells (which were all clear) bit this was enough to 'lance' it - I was left with a small lump that just disappeared by itself over the next wee while.

Hasn't come back yet and that was a few months ago.

Ultrasound technician said lots of (harmless)changes can happen in your breasts while you are lactating so please try not to worry (but go back for another check as requested obviously).
