Four months-more frequent feeds. Remind me about solids, please!

So...dd2 is a poppet. Started off waking for long stretches at night then had a dreamy phase of sleeping long stretches which I guessed might not last. Four months now and waking for the long stretches again. Could it be that she's needing solids? Quite a different pattern from the other two - they really had nothing much to regress from so I didn't have or notice this bit!

Four months is a classic growth spurt phase which should pass in a couple of weeks, but solids won't help. People may say that they introduced solids and things got better, but that's because they'll get better anyway as you get through the growth spurt :)

It will pass - honestly. Hang on in there. If you are breastfeeding then just keep on offering, keep swapping sides when one is finished (finish one breast, offer the second, then the first again if required).

Thank you! Just done a dream feed-not sure if that'll help either but there you go! My gut (and hers I guess) says no solids yet, but there's a piece of me that would be resisting that anyway as I love the ebf stage! And not just because the napoies are nicer! So need the voice of reason!

LOL I completely understand that! It's an amazing feeling to know "she's all my own work". I found it very emotional when both my sons started solids.

Maybe hang in there for a couple of weeks and see how you feel then, at least. Although it does sound like you've made up your mind :)

Maybe wait a couple of months and see?! Although I'm not sure she'll let me-already follows food with her eyes from plate to mouth! Ds wasn't remotely interested until eight or nine months! Anyway-thanks for your help. Mumsnet is a wonderful place.
