Can infacol be used with comfort formula milk?

DS (3wks) is colicky so mw & hv both suggested switching him to cow & gate comfort. Before that we had tried infacol. Although there has been some improvement since starting comfort, he still has his crying , very restless, windy periods. Anyone know if the two can be used together? Thanks

It shouldn't be a problem, likewise you shouldn't really need it either. If you've
noticed a bit of difference with the comfort milk, try switching to sma lf. A lot less hassle than comfort milk too, but more expensive.

Want is sma lf? In what way is it less hassle than comfort? I don't find comfort a hassle, apart from the fact that it doesn't come in the ready made cartons for going out & about.

Sma lactose free. Comfort milk is low lactose. Iirc comfort milk needs to be made with boiling water? Then cooled. It has a kind of slimy texture, when ds was little he kept bringing it back up. sma lf can be made up with cooled boiled water the same as other formulas. We found this less hassle than waiting for it to cool down. Another thing you could try first is colief. It's quite expensive too. If that works then move onto a lactose free formula. I wish someone had told us about lactose free milk in the beginning, ds was 3 months old by the time we worked it out.

Sorry realised that I may have come across a bit short. Am on my phone and typing not that easy. I never found infacol to be all that beneficial. Less so with the comfort milk due to ease of the way it came back up. Was worse with big burps, iyswim. How long are the periods your ds is crying for? Is he screaming and bringing his legs up? Is he gaining lots of weight, or just a little.
Ds would scream for hours, only put on a little weight and seemed to be in agony. We tried everything going. Vented bottles, swaddling, infacol, comfort milk, thencolief in comfort milk. Eventually a different hv told us about lf milk. It totally changed our lives. Ds stopped screaming, and put on weight.

thrifty thanks for explaining. Dd had colic & we used colief with her. Want to try to avoid that as it was a hassle to make iirc because it had to be in milk for30mins before it took effect. Your description of your ds sounds like dd was, pulling knees up & screaming for hours on end. Thankfully my ds isn't that bad. He is just unsettled & full of wind mornings & evenings. The only period he gets a good long sleep is inthe afternoons. Interesting that sma can be made up with cooled boiled water,I thought all formula wasn't sterile so water has to be a certain temp to kill bugs? Will look into this sma lf, thanks. Didn't know there was a link between colic & lactose intolerance.

Ds is 6 now, so things might have changed, or my memory might ne hazyt I used to take out the bottle with cooled boiled water and add the powder and shake, then warm it up. Yrs colief is a faff. But of your ds is not so bad then try the infacol. I think we tried. Dentinox colic drops aswell. Good luck and congrats.
