Neon green poo - 4.5 months

My DD2 has started doing neon green poo many times a day. It's been going on about a week. First poo of the day copious and yellow, then lots of little green ones.

I think she's teething and she has been feeding a lot for comfort. (She's also far more unsettled than usual.) Is that likely to be enough to shorten digestive transit and send the poo green? I really can't remember this with DD1 [sleep deprived] and can't remember when and if I'm meant to get it checked out.

TIA.

My DS regularly had frothy, green poo . My GP wasn't overly concerned, he made us try a few things in case DS was lactose intolerant, but he wasn't and his poo became much more normal once he started solids. It was never 'neon' though!

When DS2 has frothy green poos its usually because I've eaten something he can't tolerate, mostly the foods that DS1 cant eat. I've cut various foods, (including several of my faves, and coffee, sob) and it goes back to yellow. I'm not claiming that's necessarily what's going on for you, just that that's what happens at our house.
Alternatively, I think a change in the foremilk / hindmilk balance can change the colour / consistency of poo. That would be in keeping with the frequent eating. Maybe you could try putting her back on the same side as she ate last time, so she gets more of the hindmilk. (This was suggested for me with DS1 when I had oversupply so he was living entirely on foremilk).
My GP doesn't know much about breastfeeding, and wasn't aware that it's possible to be allergic / intolerant of foods in the breastmilk. You might try a health professional who particularly knows about breastfeeding, such as midwife who runs a breastfeeding cafe, or ask NCT breastfeeding helpline.

Hmmm. It's not frothy. Just very, very green. It really is basically neon.

Thanks so much for your comments. Instinct tells me that it's probably not a food intolerance. I already feed only on one side (high supply, so both babies have only ever taken one side even when offered both), and she's not feeding super frequently, but maybe as you say Arkaday it's just enough to send it green.

Maybe I'll just give it a few days and see what happens if the teething and frequent feeding settle down a bit.
