I am Bfing my 9month old DS, but only twice a day for the last month or so. No plans to stop just yet, but will rethink once he has turned 1.

Still no periods (and low libido too - related??)

Would like to TTC in the not to distant future, but how can I?

I realise it a 'how long is a piece of string?' type question, but what's likely to happne now? Interested to hear other people's experiences. Thanks!

Anna I've conceived whilst bfing, thought not at the same time obviously, so it can be done [hgrin].

Have you read this on Kellymom?

Low libido can often be caused by BFing. You could ovulate at any time and with you only feeding twice a day it could happen at any time. Or it might not until you completely stop. Saying that, it's rare even when feeding on demand to not have started again by 14-16 months so it depends really on how quickly you want to get pregnant again, or whether that sort of timescale is ok for you.

And it's not at all uncommon to conceive before your first period and then not know you're pregnant for a while so just watch out for that :)

Do you know how to track if you're ovulating? The book "Taking charge of your fertility" may help you to see if you are (or go to www.fertilityfriend.com)

I don't think it is that rare, actually, anecdotally from other posts on here, to reach 14 months with no period if still feeding. Also anecdotally, it appears that most of my friends' periods returned about 6 weeks after night weaning. I have just had my first one at 15 months, six weeks after night weaning. Lack of libido totally related, too, as is vaginal dryness - mine is getting back to normal now, with return of periods.
