Expressed breastmilk stored at 6 degrees C in fridge - OK to use?

I expressed on Tuesday and Wednesday and have decided to try feeding this to the baby tonight for the first time. However, I noticed that the fridge temp tonight was 6 degrees C (Was previously a little lower, around 5 degrees C).

Is this safe to use (when guidelines state 4 degrees C)? I'm worried!

The legal limit (but I'm sure you're not selling it :o) is actually 8 degrees; 4 is best practice. It will be fine :)

Thank you - used it and she seemed fine!

My advice would always be to taste it :-) Ut normally tastes quite sweet, but mild, not strong,

If it's off, it'll taste off. If it tastes ok, it is ok Smile

or just smell it (it really does smell as bad as gone off regular cows milk)

The guidelines say 3 days for milk that's stored between 6 and 10 degrees. So, even if the fridge had been 10C, the milk would still have been ok on Friday (but not today!).
