Easiest/most effective way to use Colief for exclusively breastfed 3 wk baby?

My 3 wk old DD, who is breastfed on demand, has been prescribed Colief by my GP for colic. I am confused about the best way to administer this when DD feeds every 2 hours or so, without a total crying meltdown. The instructions say to express a few tablespoons of breastmilk into a sterilised container, add the Colief drops and then feed to baby on a sterlised spoon.... before proceeding to bring the baby to the boob.... for every single feed(!).

Any tips on making this easier? What's the easiest/quickest way to sterlise the spoon? Can you use a normal teaspoon to administer rather than a plastic one??

BTW, I have a Medela Swing breastpump and have also bought some Medela storage bottles as well. I had thought about expressing daily and storing this in the fridge, and using a small amount each time. But, this needs to be heated up to body temp for each use.

Any tips? Please????!

I have just put a question on the Parenting forum asking:
Why can't you treat formula like breast milk, put a tablespoon into a cup, add 4 drops. Then feed baby the rest of the formula immediately??

Just reading through this as I'm about to start colief after trying so many other options!

As mentioned above its the first thing you find if you google, so I thought I'd add my colic experience in case anyone finds it useful...

My DD is now 9 weeks and has suffered really badly from wind since week 3. She screams from between 4-6pm until 11pm every night, so I always laugh at the 3,3,3 rule as it seems to me that colicy babies have it all the time! I've tried the following;

Infacol - started week 4, worked from week 5, by week 6 she had reflux symptoms and her movements had become less often, more explosive and were starting to cause more wind issues!

Baby gaviscon - prescribed for reflux symptoms, stopped the crying at the breast and stopped the sickness that had appeared from week 6. Caused real constipation - ie. solid rabbit type poo and clearly lots of horrible pain due to the constipation.

Cranial osteopath - relaxed DD but no change to colic symptoms, her regular jumping diaphragm or hiccups

Colic baby massage - gets some massive farts out which provide immediate relief but she's not massively keen on me doing it!

Cutting dairy from my diet - no change even after 2/3 weeks!

Stopping both infacol & gaviscon at 7 weeks - much happier baby, no reflux signs at all, back to the wind & griping pain but movements now normal again, so it feels more manageable.

Gripe water - first attempt at 4 weeks resulted in projectile vomit, small 1ml doses do bring relief when she's really screaming but no real fix.

Now on to colief!

Hi
Just seeing if anyone with these experiences is still around,
We are tempted to try colief but my ds is such a fussy feeder at the moment that im not sure if jts possible (he is ebf)
We are on ranitidine and gaviscon for silent reflux altho hes started being sick since the gaviscon! And dentinox 3x a day fo wind/colic. I have also been dairy free for 2.5 weeks due to 2 poos with blood in, which hasnt happened since but still very mucousy so not sure df has made any difference.
Any and all tips on colief and bf a very unhappy baby welcome! Do gps still prescribe it? Did it work for you and for how long?
Still havent tried gripe water, should i?

I realize this is a zombie thread but in my own tired zombie state, trying to decide what 'remedy' to try after infacol has given no results I came across this which looks like a good idea;

I'm off to buy some colief...
