Cartons of formula

Does anyone exclusively use these?

I just wondered what the cost was, and how much you used per day on average?

I am breastfeeding but use the cartons for one bottle before bed but i know ill have to swap to powder soon, as my dd takes more.

I use them, but not exclusively, they are handy for when im out and about. Or say if ive sterilised dds bottles but forgot to boil the kettle and she won't wait (judge if you want -hehe) i use them then too,
But I think it is too expensive to use them full time, simply because the cartons are one feed for my dd, 55p each, but a 900g tub of formula is £7.55 so more for my money (5 feeds a day average i get through a tub in about a week) my maths isnt the best but i think the tubs are better value.

I used them full time. You can buy one-litre ones that last 48 hours in the fridge. Yes they are more expensive but I decided they were worth it for the convenience.

Panzee, how much do you get through each week (i know everyone is different) and how do you buy it? Ie small cartons or big?

Also, what does it cost you?

Not being nosey, just trying to evaluate if it is an option for us really

Sorry pressed send too soon. They varied in price week to week (same price everywhere ) . It cost me about £20 a week whereas a tub would have cost me about £8.

I used them full time, never made a single feed with powder! I think the cost was about £4 per day (maybe a bit less, def not more) but I used to spend more than this per day on lunch and coffee when working so justified it that way!! I also was reassured that I could not get the mix wrong and to me it was more hygenic and way less faff, so for me it was really worth it.

I used them full time after the DTs were 6 months. Wished I started earlier.

If you use the litre packs you can store opened packs in the fridge.

At 6 months, I think they were on 4 250ml bottles each a day. So one carton a day each.

I use them for nightfeeds, first feed of the day and when out and about.
At 8mo dd is drinking fewer bottles, and I'm starting to use cartons more.

I honestly can't remember, it was 2 years ago. :) I used to buy lots of big cartons plus a few small ones for out and about.

We just used cartons because neither DH nor I could be bothered faffing with powder and worrying about contamination. They're 61p each for 200ml, and DS was drinking at most a carton a day till he was a year old (he was still breastfed and also ate loads of yogurt). We had real trouble getting him to drink his milk, though - he just didn't like the formula much and is happier now he can have cow's milk.

Hey panzee....just wondering where you got your litre cartons from?? Can you remember?

You can get the litre cartons in bigger tesco stores

Tesco and Boots. You can get them from Boots online too (at least you could 2 years ago).

I'm slightly different as my twins were prem and are on nutriprem so we get it on prescription but I only use one or two of the pre-made cartons aday for each of them as it makes their reflux way worse, just something to consider if your dc has any reflux issues!
