Changing formula brands- disaster help!

Had I known that there was an organic formula I would've been giving DD it from the get go, she was a SMA baby until two days ago. So we buy a load of HIPP and she seems to be having a hell of time with it. Yesterday we had about 5 poos in a day compared to the more sedate 1 max 2 in 24 hours we previously had, although they look less worrying she seems to have more gas too.

Last couple of nights have been TERRIBLE. We'd pretty much gotten her into a sleep routine of 10 hours a night with one or two sleepy feeds (she's 19 weeks old), with optimistic hopes of less waking when we move on to solids. Since the switch she barely sleeps a full 45 minutes before waking up very unhappy and fussing.

I was very much hoping that the organic milk would be more gentle on her tummy, but it seems to cause amazing distress. How can this be? Surely there's less to object to. Anyone have this happen to them?

Think the answer is to switch back to the SMA, as she seemed happier with that. Some babies just don't get on with some formulas. Apparently when I was a baby I was on Aptimil for a few months, then suddenly it kept upsetting my stomach, so my mum switched me to Farleys and I was fine.

i agree with FeastofSteven .... but you got to stay on the SMA as you cant change it again

Why can't you change formulas, though?

I know this is said, but I have never heard or read anything that indicates any good reason.

I chop and change formulas but DS is mixed fed with breastmilk too
He hasn't shown any upset from any formulas

Dizietsma - how about alternating between SMA and Hipp before going completely to Hipp? Might be a smoother transistion

Of course the sleep etc could be due to something other than the milk, teething maybe?
