Infant feeding

I hate breast feeding!

Don't know where to start... It makes me feel miserable because it's relentless, restricting and makes me feel ugly and often uncomfortable. I'm trapped by it because DD won't take a bottle... I'm exhausted because she wants to feed most of the time, and i'm clearly rubbish at it because she continues to drop on her centiles...

Feel like tearing my hair out. She's 13 weeks, when will this torture end?

I hated breast feeding. Among ither things, I hated the way the babies always wanted to eat when they came to me I could never just have a cuddle.

I only started to enjoy being a mum when DH gave me "permission" to stop BF (at about 12 weeks with DS1) I know I didn't need his permission and he never suggested that I should, but having him agree that it was best for all of us (and for us it was) helped me to feel that it wasn't me letting the babies down.

FWIW, my boys are now 8 & 10. Both well above average height, normal weight and very active, They're both intelligent and doing well at school, have no allergies or eczema, have never had any condition requiring antibiotics and the only sick time either has had off school is when they had chicken pox. I know we've been very lucky (and I'm grateful for that) and I know all the science supporting BF (I expected to Bf for 12 months) but I do know that for us it was OK and a good thing to stop

I so understand the feeling! But as everyone is saying, it will get better. When people used to ask me how often my baby fed, I used to tell them "on the hour, every hour, for an hour!". It used to be non-stop, But now it's much better, so I assure you it does get better.

I used to wish I could give her a bottle but now I think I couldnt be doing with all the sterilising and boiling and cooling etc.

I bought a feeding cushion and it was the best thing ever! Before it I used to have a duvet, a pillow and 3 cushions travelling from room to room! You can even use it in the rugby tackle position but it's too big for me to take out and about - that is still a slight challenge! I still can't remember the last time I had a shower where i wasnt stressing about getting to the baby and my hair has forgotten what a hairdresser is! The only thing that used to help in those days was to keep talking to DH during BF DD or when he was sleeping then playing games on the mobile! It DOES get easier and this phase will pass sooner or later - hopefully sooner.

me too, my son is 8 weeks old and I feel like I am wishing precious time away until I can stop feeding him at 6 months. My husband says im too stubborn, but the baby loves it so much that I cant stop.

Another hater here! Ds2 is 11weeks and feeds every 2 hrs sometimes for an hour. It's driving me mad! Hate how restrictive it is, am sorry but my idea of convenient is being able to hand him over to dh to feed once or twice a day!

Sick of wearing 2 vests all the time & ugly old bras
Sick of listening to dh snoring
Sick of sitting on sidelines feeding whilst dh runs round having fun with dc1
Sick of feeling trapped

I know it's the best thing for them but I can't wait to give it up and get my body back.
