15 week old ds refusing morning feed???

My ds used to take a late evening/nightime feed and sleep anything between 7-10 hours, but recently has started to wake up at around 2:30-3am for a feed, but when wakes again in morning (usually at around 8-8:30am) refuses to take bottle for around 1-1.5 hrs....By which time ds is getting tired and cranky again!!!

Anyone know why this is happening or how to sort this out?

My ds is 18 weeks and breastfed, but is not really bothered about feeding when he wakes up. He will happily be up for half an hour or possibly longer before looking for a feed (though being a greedy little fellow he will take it if offered!). Quite often, as you say, he wants his feed just before he is ready to go back for a nap.

Have you tried simply not offering it for at least an hour, or do you sit with him trying to get him to take it? Maybe if you just let him play for a bit first he may be ready to have a wee "snack" before his next nap. Sorry if you are already doing this!!

already trying this and does work to a certain degree, but still quite a struggle. Do you Know how many feeds a day my ds should be taking. I heard they were supposed to feed every 4 hours but he only takes 3 feeds a day andone at night!

hmmm Lynsey - doesn't sound a lot to me. Ds has around 8 - 10 feeds per day but that is not normal - he's just greedy!!! JessicaandRebeccasmummy is a bottlefeeder (I know there are lots of others, just can't think of any just now) with a dd around the age of yours - she might be able to tell you how many feeds a day her dd has.

Bump, anyway

Ps I haven't weaned him yet either which may be having an effect on how many feeds he wants.
