With all the threads on extended breastfeeding I was just interested :)

I breastfed all my dc for 10 months, then they went straight to a cup. No bottles to clean!

DC1 Planned 1 year if possible. Fed for 15 months and loved it.
DC2 thought it would be a doddle and planned at least the same as with first. Have been having difficulties (now 6 months) and will continue as long as possible.

Am impressed with all the extended b-feeders.

DC1- 6 months. I weaned her on to formula in time to return to work.

DC2 - 9 months. She was using me as a human dummy I was told. I deliberately stopped feeding her so that my breasts wouldn't disappear. That is what I was told would happen by a friend. How vain Blush

DC3 - I planned to wean him to cows milk at 9 months in time for my return to work. He was having none of it. I am still breastfeeding him at 2.6 yo. I don't know how to stop. It is too distressing to try. So please could you all leave me alone and stop pressuring me?????

I wish I had known all I know now with the first two. Sad

I hoped to make it to at least 6m ebf, and stop at 12m to go on to cows milk. Now he's 10m and I cannot at all imagine stopping in 2m time, so I plan to carry on till he's 2 and see what happens than. I can't think I'll carry on much past then as we want another and I don't want to tandem nurse, it's not for me.
I'm back at work ft and expressing for him during the day and I plan to stop that in a month and just feed when we're together.
