What do I do??? he just seems to feed/cry/feed/cry all day. Like now for instance he's been feeding on and off since six - just had a big long feed for about the last hour and sicked some up (prob because he's overfed) and straight away he's crying on DP's shoulder and rooting and snorting for more.

I honestly don't know what to do.. he never seems to be happy, just seems to feed and cry.

Any ideas? Should I put him back on when he's like this or what???

lucie I soooo feel for you, this is so tough, especially when you're so tired.

You are being amazing though, working through ways to make things better for him. Poor mite, I think they get so confused having been so cosy and never hungry for 9 months and now they feel so many different things. Of course, if they'd only sleep, THEY would feel so much better Grin.

Firstly, you seem to have resolved the green nappies (which may have caused him to have tummyy ache) which is great. As someone mentioned, beware block feeding too much - aim more to ensure that a breast really has been emptied as much as possible (they're never actually empty of course) then it's ok to swap.

How much is he being sick? Is it just posseting or is it more than that? While what you are describing sounds like very normal newborn behaviour (which will pass in another few weeks if you go with the flow, as you are) it could be compounded by discomfort - maybe a reflux type of thing. I certainly wouldn't be looking at medicating for that right now but it might be worth trying something like excluding dairy from your diet for a fortnight (of all kinds - you need to be really strict and exclude anything with milk powder in so read packets carefully). If this helps, make sure you're taking in plenty of calcium from other sources such as dark green leafy veg, fish like sardines, etc, and stick with it a while as it helps a lot of babies.
