When did your let down reflex stop hurting?

I am in agony during every feed. For the whole of the feed.
Dd is 3 weeks old, she had a tongue tie, which was meant to have been cut properly on day 3 was done again on thurs last week. The infant feeding team woman at the hospital said it would improve with time but she seemed surprised that it hadnt yet.
My latch is good
It's not thrush
The feeding woman at the hospital can't see anything wrong but we're going back on Friday.

I don't think I can just hang on in there hoping it'll get better at some point in time but not knowing if/ when that may be.

When did your let down stop hurting?

hmm if it was letdown it wouldn't be through the entire feed.

have you seen a qualified breastfeeding counsellor to double-check latch etc?

The woman at the hospital is qualified I'm sure. Her title is 'infant feeding specialist midwife'. She has a bunch of certificates on the wall about bf. she is also qualified to cut Tongue ties.

I've spoken to BFC and they can't suggest anything either.

I thought let down as it's is far worse at start and also happens when I leak.

Could it be ductal thrush? I think babies are sometimes asymptomatic - e.g., no white patches. You might have red or sore nipples though too if it were that.

I've never ever had a pain free feed tho - even before milk came in. I thought thrush appeared after a while, rather than appeaing as soon as baby did.
I've been looked at for thrush and it's not that.

my let down reflex was very powerful - spray - and also very painful for a good few months. around 10/12 weeks iirc. it then got not painful as such but it hurt a bit and i could always feel the pressure right up until i stopped at 15months. it does happen. what is responsible for the letdown are muscles so it makes sense if it is powerful it would be painful and then as the muscles get stronger it gets less so. like exercising your arm for the first time ever until it got stronger...

it will stop hurting
hang in there :)
