My dd is a month old, since she was a week old I've been giving her formula in a bottle as well as breast feeding as she is such a hungry baby and my nipples were very sore and bleeding.
I also give her a bottle when we are out as I find it uncomfortable to breastfeed in public.
She is doing very well and will happily guzzle a 4 oz bottle a couple of times a day as well as having breast milk!

The last couple of days she has only wanted to breast feed and not wanted a bottle at all, which is unlike her. I am happy to just breast feed her as my nipples are not so sore now but just wondering why she has decided to refuse the bottle now? Any ideas?

I had to bf her while I was out the other day which was actually not as bad as I expected but as I couldn't get comfortable sitting on a seat with no back I was in agony after a while :(

Glad your nipples are better, gallifrey.

You're doing well to have maintained breastfeeding, as bottles early on can make it hard to build up and maintain a supply - it may be your dd has developed a preference for breastfeeding and is keen to ensure a good supply so feeds more often at the breast than before (not saying the baby can work it out like this - and she does not know that the more she feeds the more you make. But babies do feed from the breast more when they need more :) )

She may well return to the occasional bottle in time, but if you are happy to bf solely, and are gaining in confidence, maybe the answer is to ensure you find a decent chair to sit on at all times, now you know you have to have a seat with a back on it :)

yes, I'll certainly not make that mistake again!

You can also breastfeed in a sling! But it is a bit tricky. Good luck with the breast feeding!
