Storing breast milk - can you use tupperware containers?

I've been using breast milk bags to store my expressed breastmilk, but they are a bit pricey so was wondering if I could use normal tupperware containers provided they have been sterilised first?

Any ideas?
Thanks

I can't see why not so long as they're sterile. My BFing book just says 'use a sterile container'. I can't see that it would be that different to using say a bottle with a screw on lid

I agree tupperware should be fine, but just to add that I think Home Bargains??? do cheap breast milk bags.

You can use anything you like as long as it's sealable and sterile. Instead of breastmilk bags I store EBM in medela bottles and wash and reuse them - much cheaper.

Depends if you are worried about BPA or not. If so then no, most tupperware is not suitable.

Homebargains bags are cheap and really good, I also used Avent storage pots - cheaper than the bottles so I didn't have to buy so many of those. TT do storage pots too.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think I will go for the reusable bottle solution. Unfortunately there isn't a Home Bargains store near me, which is a shame as it looks like an ace place to shop!
