An experiment

Someone on another forum I used posted the benefits of topical application of breastmilk. Apparently it can help heal sores & cuts, acne, warts, cracked lips, blocked noses and sore eyes.

So as an experiment, I have decided to apply some to my eczema, permanently cracked lips and one wart. After just 2 applications, my cracked lips are healing .

Anyone else want to join me in this experiment and cover themselves in boob juice . If it works, I'm getting moving on expressing and will start my own cosmetics line.

I can't join you in your experiment as my breast-feeding days are over, but I know it's brilliant for conjunctivitis, and I was recommended to use it when dd had molluscum as well.

moondog · 08/11/2005 23:09

suzi,I used it on dd's sticky eye.

It's magic stuff. You're onto a winner.
Aren't people already injecting themselves with the cells of aborted foetuses (sheep I think??) in the search for eternal youth.

WigWamBam · 08/11/2005 23:12

Ah, but sadly, some people are far more disgusted at the thought of breast milk than they are at the thought of aborted sheep's foetuses, moondog.

I've done it - I've put it in DS's sticky eye, my eczema, various little blemishes (not that I'm blemished, obv ) - works beautifully!

moondog · 08/11/2005 23:14

Yes I know WWB.
Grotesque isn't it???

QueenVictoria · 08/11/2005 23:15

I used it for both my DC's conjunctivitis/sticky eyes. It works a treat. Has antibodies in it so its great (the HV recommended it).

chatee · 08/11/2005 23:15

definetly helped heal ds's cut on his forehead the day before the school photograph(i was taking him in to have a joint pic with his sister).....before anyone thinks he is at school and still breast fed....

Serah · 08/11/2005 23:55

an obvious one, but it's far superior to Kamillosan on the "chapped" nipple front too, I found.

KiwiKate · 09/11/2005 06:01

On DH's suggestion I used some on DD's cradle cap - and it is amazing. I've had to put it on twice (each time it cleared up for about 10 days).

Also best solution for cracked nipples.

suzi2 · 09/11/2005 09:08

I may try it for DSs cradle cap - he has it bad.

Seems to be working on my eczema so far.

I can't blieve so many people have tried it - it was new to me!

just reading this thread. did anyone try it on warts and has it helped?

fennel · 10/11/2005 20:24

i read a study where it actually helped cancer patients in the US. they drank it.

the problem with that was that it relied on donated milk and mothers, apparently, are keener on donating for premature babies than for cancer patients.

bobbybob · 10/11/2005 20:28

I drank some when I had a hideous stomach bug and it completely cured me.

rodeo1 · 10/11/2005 20:36

I used it on my newborn dd1's sticky eye too as advised by the doc (straight from the boob) HV was horrified It worked straight away!
