Feeding or comforting herself?

How do I know if my 6WO daughter is hungry or just wants to be comforted by sucking on breast?

well you don't, and she is prboably both! comfort is just as important as nutrition, so tbh you can't go far wrong just letting her feed on demand :)

I agree with TIY, it doesn't matter - just give her the breast if she wants it.

I agree - it's all the same at that age. Even if she's not drinking lots, she'll be telling your breasts to supply exactly the right amount of milk for her.

ditto, just let her get on with it.

The constant feeding doesn't last for ever. By 3 months she will be behaving completely differently in lots of ways.

I agree too!

Normal for a tiny baby.

Really good for her, whether for food or comfort anyway.

Congrats on your lovely baby Smile

Agree with the others. If there was some way of knowing like a big neon sign saying 'she's doing this for comfort', would it make a difference? It's very pleasing that a little baby is feeling warm, comforted and snuggly. And that the means are right there and readily available is just brilliant.

Just let her feed when she wants and don't worry about why she's doing it. She has a very clever relationship with your breasts and they'll see each other right.
