Breastfeeding breaks when returning to work

Does anyone know whether these breaks are generally paid or unpaid? I can't find anything to tell me anywhere.

It would make life difficult if I had to make the time back as I don't want to do longer hours when I return to work and I can't afford to take unpaid time really.

Thank you

I know by law that employers must give you a private space to express and you also have protection for flexible working hours. I would contact your local breastfeeding group/midwife or la leche - it might be worth explaining this to your employer and you could perhaps spread out your lunch time ie havea thirty minute lunch break with 10 mins for expressing

My employer gave me a paid break. Think it was all a bit new though as I think I was the only Mum who had ever returned to work still bfing.

I did just express once a day though, just for comfort really. How often will you be expressing and have you got a really quick pump?

I'm not too sure yet as I'm not going back for a couple of months but I'm trying to be prepared!

I have a Medela Swing but I haven't expressed for a long while, probably two months or more so I want to get started with it now and get some milk in the freezer and get used to expressing again to check I can get anything. It should be quick enough anyway. I am thinking of just expressing once a day as baby will be about 9 months but I don't fancy using my whole lunch break just doing that, it is nice to get out and get a bit of fresh air and we only have 40 minutes for lunch.
