my 8.5 month old is constantly - for want of a better word - moaning! She doesnt want to be put down ever, or fed anything other things she seems to find on other peoples plates (rejects my lovingly made food for her) she like to constantly be withing about 10cms of a boob!. She is happiest snuggled up on the couch with me watching tv and with free access for feeding which is great but not really practical 24 hours a day. She still wakes up 2-3 times a night and has a big feed plus 2 smaller feeds during the night. So in total she has
food for breakfast lunch dinner and 6-8 breastfeeds. But she still cries all the time (unless in her favourite couch/on off feeding position).

is it at ALL possible she in hungry? or is she just grumpy??

Fernie have I read it right, is she waking upto 5 times in the night? If so, would co-sleeping be an option for you?

Fernie3 · 11/04/2011 21:18

oh no sorry i meant she wake up around 3 times between about midnight (when i go to bed) and 6 am (when the alarm goes off) normally has a small feed about 1-2 then a big feed about 3 then a small one again about 5.
I have tried having her in the bed but then i end up awake anyway because im so uncomfortable! DH is quite big build and so DD and I end up squished!

Right ok then, at least thats a bit better than I thought Grin. I'm not trained but much of what you have said sounds like a perfectly normal DD. She wants to be close to her source of food and comfort and who can blame her?

When we go to a restaurant I usually end up looking at the food my friends have and wishing I had ordered the same! Instead of lovingly prepared food, can't she just have what you are having?

Is she happy if you are out say at playgroup or the park?

You could always give on of the helplines a call though just to check its not a feeding problem, have you got the numbers?
