For pitties sake.. i know im lucky.. i live in australia where bfing is very very well supported and tolerated... but some times i just get sick of people at social type outings telling me that after dd ( 9 weeks ) has fed.. sat and giggled for an hour .. then gets grumpy and wants more cant be hungry.... WHY??? jeepers....she is still in the 85 centile for height and weight.. is generally very very settled and happy.. It doesnt bother me if she wants to be attached... so why should anyone else contribute.. in jest with my friends it is just fine.. but it seems some people are just down right overpowering...yesterday someone at a freinds house was nuring hewr and she was fist sucking.. getting grumpy so i said ok hand her back ill feed her agin... and i pretty much had to fight her to get her back! with oh .. dear.. ( patronisin expression) she isnt possibly hungry... just demanding.... GRRRRR ok.. off the soap box now.....

When i BF my DD it was every 2 hours she wanted so thats what i did. My DS was on FF, cause of meds could only BF for first 3 mnths with him, he feed as often as possible including top up bottles between bottles. Both were early both were underweight. Now at 8 and 9 still underweight - i prob still give too big portions but are allowed most foods as long as they have ate some fruit.

"Christ, she's not hungry again is she?". I get it all the time. By 5w DD is (I have to admit) a bit of a piggy but my HV tells me that its good. I now just tell people "yes she is" and "did you know there is no link between obesity in big breastfed babies. There is in formula fed ones". Also with my DS I used to warn people that I was about to feed (ie the inlaws) but now I just whip it out! My boob, my baby, my prerogative!!

Yes these are the same parentsand in laws who in the next few years will be giving your child sweets and cakes and crap until they're sick! Yet giving them natures best in the early days whenever they want it is frowned upon!Confused

Surely after an hour has passed its time for some "pudding" Wink. That's what I used to say. Even my DS1&2 used to ask if DS3 was having his dinner or pudding. (There's always room in your pudding tummy too even if you've had a huge dinner Grin).
