9 week old fussing and distractible in day / mostly feeding at night

Hi
My 9 week old has just started getting very fussy and distractible at the breast during the day - peering around at what's going on around her, flinging her head off if she thinks something interesting is going on (ouch!), wriggling and kicking. It feels like bf is starting to get harder rather than easier especially as she gets heavier. The only time she keeps at it in the day is when she is sleepy, but then I don't think she gets much as her sucking feels quite slow and ineffectual.

Her latest seems to be to take tiny top ups during the day, despite my offering her food regularly (too much other exciting stuff going on in the day?), then bed down for a mammoth feeding session at night- not too bad as we co-sleep, but I wake up feeling physically drained and a bit sore after what feels like a feeding all-nighter.

I have been EBF on demand and don't feel like we have really ever settled into any kind of natural routine- is there any way I can try to ease her towards taking more in the day so i get more rest at night without imposing a strict routine which I don't want to do? Any tips for getting her to focus more on the job in hand during the day?

Thank you!

hi there
there are breastfeeding necklaces available or maybe you have a necklace with beads on or something. that will destract her as she'll try to play with it whilst drinking. i know its boring for you but maybe till she passes this phase feed her in a quiet room where no one will be coming in or tv's not on. i had to resort to having tv on with subtitles just so DD wasn't destracted.

but i'd definately try the necklace it should keep her interested with the job at hand

happy feeding x
