I'm currently bf dd1 (DC3), she is just over 16 weeks, I breastfed my other two but only to 12 weeks so now I'm in unchartered territory.
I've been doing really well, and she is a very good baby but just recently I feel like she is maybe not getting enough - she has been either sleeping through for 12 hours or just waking once in the night at about 4ish for a while but the past few night she has slept terribly - but she does also have a bit of a cold and a nasty cough so it could be more to do with this. However she just doesn't seem as settled after a daytime feed (which also seem very quick) as she did previously and my boobs don't feel quite as full.
I did introduce a formula feed at night a few days ago but now I've decided I don't want to go down that route so would really like tips or advice please, or is this pretty normal??

Classic growth spurt and developmental leap time!

Totally normal. Just feed, feed, feed.

If you do an advanced search on 4mth olds you will see loads of posts. Often their sleep takes a turn fir the worst too, but it passes!

Your boobs will be less full as they are working efficiently now and making milk as needed. Mine went back to their 'normal' size at 5 mths .

Ditch the formula - unless you wnat to go down the formula roue of course which is entirely your choice. But if you want to bf, just feed and feed and your supply will soon catch up.

Well done for getting to this stage. I found it quite hard work for a few weeks, but then it got really easy again and we are still enjoying bfing at 10 mths. It is miles easier then ff, which is what ds1 had. And you get a lovely hug. And cake. Grin

Thanks, I thought as much but was just worried as I didn't feel so full, I really hop they don't go back to their normal size just yet!!!

I've found bf much easier this time round, and to be honest apart from the obvious benefits of breastfeeding I'm just too lazy (and too busy with my other two) to be bothered formula feeding - i think I will ditch it! Especially as it won't be long til she is being weaned I guess - this past four months has flown the next two will go in a flash too! Well done you for getting to 10 months - my target is 6 and I will see what happens after that!

Thanks again, and I will enjoy some cake!

Yep, it's the laziness that does it for me too, lol! Grin

Sounds pretty normal to me too - at around 4 months I stopped feeling full, could finally ditch the breastpads and quite suddenly stopped feeling the letdown really painfully too!

My ds's sleep also went haywire around 4 months - though he'd never slept through, but we went from 2 night wakings to 5 or 6. We did get back on track around 5 months though.
