hiya, have just started breastfeeding newborn dd and have had real trouble finding affordable tops. looked at jojomamanbebe but they are £29 each which is alot. saw some in h and m but they didnt have much range and what they had didnt fit v well.

what do most people wear? or do u just lift up top and use a cover? really confusing as i def dont want to flash anyone my post baby belly!

help!!!

Ebay is good, but tbh, I just wear ordinary tops and hike them up - I found that if I had a vest/t-shirt under my top it gave you a little bit of extra discretion. I just stuck to easy, cotton stuff, no buttons or faffy bits.

I'm always a bit self-conscious, too, but once you've whopped your norks out in places you weren't expecting too (the train, on a park bench), your belly is the last thing you worry about!

Besides, the more you bf, the faster your lovely belly will shrink!

Duh - and congrats on the birth of your little one, and thumbs up on the bf!! xx

Yep, just buy cheapo cotton vests and wear them under your normal tops- pull one up and one down and there's barely anything on show. I tried on a few nursing tops and found them really awkward, my nipples aren't in my armpits for a start Hmm

Used regular tops with vests underneath and a muslin tucked under bra strap that could be drapped over feeding DD for extra discretion when feeding finished and to mop up milk. You get used to it though and worry less as you get more confident.

I agree with the vest under the top trick, I bought 3 nursing tops from mother care in the early days and they are rubbish!! Hadn't thought of tucking the muslin in the bra strap though- good tip!

Congrats on your baby!

I never bothered with BFing tops - I was given some and couldn't ever really get on with them.

But I totally understand not wanting to flash your post-baby tummy! The vest under your top trick is a good one, but I found it can get quite hot when the weather is good. I swear by bump bands - dead cheap to buy and cover your tummy perfectly. I just use them and my normal tops.

i just bought this tunic dress thing yummy
if you use this code 4705

i use ebay a bit or wear dresses which unbutton as i would prefer to show top of boob than tummy lol

I use a combination of feeding vests from jojobebe, vest tops underneath normal tops (one up one down) and bump bands.

New Look (online store) had the cheapest bump bands by farcwhen I bought mine. They're great quality too - spent months stretched over a twin pregnancy and are still stretchy and well fitting 5 months post birth Smile

try the Emma-Jane ones - there is a regular nursing vest and an extra long one - they come in lots of colours and have built in bra support. Think you can buy them from www.fromheretomaternity.co.uk - about £16
