Hi! My 11 mth old is having the breast morning and evening. She doesn't really take much milk it is more for the comfort so I want to start cutting back how should I go about this? She has never taken to a bottle, or liked ANY formula so I can't replace the breast with this, can I give her cows milk in her favourite cup at 11 months? cheers

Is your dd just 11 months, or 11 and a bit? It is recommended to wait until 1 year before giving cows milk as a drink, but as you can use it in cooking, it would probably be OK to start phasing it in as a drink from 11 and a bit. Can you express milk and get er used to taking that in her cup, then gradually add a little cows milk instead of breast, and slowly increase the proportion of cows milk to breast milk until she is getting 100% cows milk at one year?

Yes thats fine to give milk in a cup, recommended age is 1 year, provided you're sure she has no allergies (e.g been having on cereal for sometime etc) then it'll be fine. It is common for children to drink far less milk once the breast/bottle is taken away. As you say its the comfort more than anything. Then you may find as she gets more used to it no breast, the quantity will go up again in what she drinks from a cup.

Yes you can, but you could also keep going with the morning and evening bfs until a year to be sure she has everything she needs. Then when she comes a year the change will have been made.
