My DS is 15 weeks and BF. We've never had any trouble with him feeding. He latches on well and can feed normally for England.

The past week or two, he's been getting frustrated during the night feeds, around 10. He won't latch on either side. And when he does it's for a few minutes before he starts to cry. So I have to keep switching sides every few minutes. And when he comes off the breast for a burp, he cries so much. He doesn't have colic and feeds fine otherwise.

I don't know what to do. I'm contemplating formula just for the night feed, but I am reluctant, please someone help me. I don't know what to do

I've found that DS got irritable because he no longer liked the position i was feeding him (across my chest). I changed positions to find one that he liked (rugby ball hold or even laying him across my knee and leaning over- uncomfortable but it worked!)

It could also be because your milk let-down is too forceful for him. Try taking him off, holding your hand firmly over your breast for a few moments then re-latching him.

Found all this on kellymom as usual so heres the link :)

Actually, scrap what I said about milk let-down, doesn't seem like thats the problem! Someone needs their morning coffee and shouldnt be allowed on net til AFTER Blush!

Could he just be tired and want to go back to sleep? Just a thought, babies sometimes change their patterns without you realising.
Not all babies need to feed in the night, especially if he is feeding so well in the day...( I'm looking after my niece at the moment who is 10 weeks and dropped all night feeds, suprisingly)

From my experiences with DD, I'd suggest overtiredness or the start of teething??? I now take the attitude that if she won't feed, she's probably not hungry (feeds well usually & weight gain very good so I feel comfortable taking this attitude at 15 weeks) and so try to settle her in other ways.
