Ds1 was BF but was switched to fully formula fed at 6months.

Now ds2 is 6 months and 1 week old, and for the last few nights he has been feeding EVERY 1 1/2-2hrs through the night for 30mins or so and not only am I exhausted, I'm starting to doubt that my milk is enough for him. He was previously doing 6.30pm, 10.30pm, 2.30/3.00am and 6.30/7am. So 2 night feeds lasting about 5/10minutes each

He is fed on demand during the day, usually every 2-3hrs and (BLW) at 3meals a day. Ok so he hasn't been weaned long but judging by his nappies, he's getting quite a lot in.

What's going on?

my 3 ALL went mad for milk when they were weaned. don't know why... perhapos they were thirsty? or perhaps they were filling up with veg ad stuff in the day and making up the calories at night?

not sure but it did calm down eventually. might also just be a growth spurt

DD2 did exactly this at 6 months! As I recall it levelled off after a couple of weeks when she started eating a bit more in the way of actual calories from solid food ... I also recall a sudden growth spurt out of the 3-6 clothes seemingly overnight, so suspect similar may be happening to you.

My take on your situation, for what it's worth, is that it will pass soon but it's obviously utterly exhausting so do what you need to get through it (whether that's cosleeping, bottle of expressed milk, anything else). However your milk is more than 'enough' for him - it's perfect for him, alongside solids now, and bf at the same time as weaning is definitely easier than switching to formula at the same time as weaning (fewer tummy bugs, less washing up faff, less constipation with unusual foods etc). Good luck and hope you can get some well-earned rest soon Grin

I remember quite an intense growth spurt at 6 months which required hourly feeding for a few nights.
