Weight at 7 months?

My daughter is 7 months and the bathroom scales seems to say she is 18.5 pounds. Not sure how accurate it is but can't be that far off as it's rig in my weight. She eats 3 meals a day plus 5 or 6 breastfeeds. Is this an ok weight ? I have an appointment with the hv this afternoon (for my older son) but since my baby will be with me the hv will probably suggest weighing her and I'm panicking now because my other three were MUCH bigger at this age ( but were bottle fed from birth).

Do you have her red book? There are centiles in that which you can plot against birth weight, ideally this should follow a curve as opposed to up and down over several lines. DS2(6.5month) is BF with 3 meals per day he is 16lbs, I take him monthly to be weighed and HV is happy with him Smile

My ds is about 18lb according to my scales at 6.5 months, he's bf and we're doing blw so not sure how much he eats, but some food does go in. Hvs have always been happy with his weight.

Tootired is right, you need to look at the centile curves in the red book. But don't get too worried about it - it's perfectly normal to go up or down a bit, very few babies will trend exactly along one line.

And don't forget - if you don't want your baby weighed, just say "no thank you" and that's IT. If babies are otherwise healthy, then they should be weighed no more often than once every two months when they are over 6 months old Royal College of Paedriactrics here
