TIKTOK Do you know anything about Subchorionic Haematoma in pregnancy and breastfeeding?

I am 6+5 with DC2 (or so the scan says Smile) and the sonographer saw a subchorionic haematoma on the u/s today. I have had no bleeding thus far, just a little cramping and some backache occasionally. Good, strong heart beat visualised Smile

DS is 15 months and still a ferocious breastfeeder. (We will be starting the night weaning process this weekend as I can't take the constant demand anymore).

I know that feeding while pregnant does not increase risk of miscarriage in a normal pregnancy, but given the increased risk associated with SCH, is there any evidence that bf increases risk further?

I don't know about medically but I had a subchorionic haematoma when I was pg with DD2 it was quite large and got smaller as the pg progressed, I was feeding DD1 13mo at the time and when I saw the consultant she said it had nothing to do with feeding but more to do with how the placenta implanted, I did find some feeds made cramps worse, I night weaned and we cut her feeds down to morning and night by the time I was 12 weeks and she self weaned at about 28 weeks.

Thank you blueberry. My GP just rang to discuss the sonar findings and what looked HUGE to me is apparently very small Grin.

That'll teach me to not 'eyeball' things in future n

Not a clue, MBJ, but I can't see how bf could affect it...hope you find reassurance about this.
