Reduced infant formula! Just curious really.

In my local shop they have loads of Hipp organic hungry baby formula cartons reduced. I presume because they are going out of date soon.

I thought this wasn't allowed because hungry baby formula can still be used from birth can't it?

Stuff like this doesn't usually bother me but where I am living at the moment it wouldn't be unknown for someone to buy all the cartons and use them even after their date as expired.

I wasn't going to say anything because formula is expensive and if someone gets to save a bit of money that's great but think I should say something to stop a baby possibly being fed out of date formula.

What would you do?

Point out to the manager that his display is illegal and they should be removed from offer. Trading Standards may be interested too. I'm afraid whether people choose to feed their dc out of date products isnlt a decision you can make for them. Could just as easily apply of they bought them with a 3 month expiry date but didn't come to use until 4th month.

So it is actually illegal for them to be reduced then? Even if they are near the sell by date?

If it is Infant Formula ie. suitable for under 6 months then yes illegal. Also to sell past its Sell By date
