Can freezing breastmilk make it taste funny?

DS is 4 1/2 months, and exclusively BF still. Have had trouble getting him to take a bottle in last week or so. He just cried, through several different bottles, teats, feeders and attempts. Was trying him with defrosted milk that had been stored for a few weeks in the freezer, so tried some freshly expressed stuff, and that went down fine (only once so far, though so don't know if this is definitely the key). Is it possible that freezing has affected the taste of the milk? If so, is mighty annoying as I have tons of the stuff in the freezer, and need it for a weekend away I have planned - not sure I can make enough new stuff for the fridge in time!

We sometimes found that it was the heating in the microwave that DD objected to at first. Must have been around 4 months that we tried it.

Now, at nearly 9 months, she'll take it from wherever she can get it Smile

How did you defrost it? We used to have to defrost it in hot water, then run a fresh pot of hot water to heat it to drinkable temp, although we had to experiment to find the right temperature (about room temp as it turns out)

Hope you get something sorted soon.

could be an excess of lipase which is causing a change in flavour.

There's some info here about it, looks like the taste can change.

We defrosted overnight in fridge then warmed in hot water before giving.
