how manky your boobies can get when breastfeeding a snotty nosed baby.

seriously, I have shed lots of tears over b/feeding and had a wry smile over the fact that I can now laugh about this.

thanks for sharing

eeewww. ick. i hadn't thought of that.

will keep ds in a protective bubble until he is completely weaned.

I love your name Lummox!

I am permanently covered in crap these days (sometimes literally!). I just have a lot of cheap Primark t-shirts and sometimes change them three times in a day.

lummox · 16/10/2005 19:09

Hey thanks aloha. It's what I said when I saw the pregnancy test was positive.

I've started eyeing the clothes in my wardrobe for baby-sick-hide-ability. M&S stuff definitely better than Next in this respect. Do you think I might get some vouchers if I send them a letter saying that?

Sorry for the hi-jack. Alux - am hoping your post doesn't haunt my dreams.

alux · 16/10/2005 19:26

oh lummox, don't worry, within a week you will find yourself doing icky things for a baby that you would do for no one else, possibly including yourself. that's all part of loving them.

dh, was grossed out the first time she puked in our bed, now he takes it in stride.

Sorry, alux, wasn't being very clear. ds is four and a half months and have learnt that I can love a guy who:

  • poos in my bed (to be fair he's prety much always been wearing a nappy)
  • wees when I'm hugging him
  • manages to sneeze all over me just when I'm thinking that at least he's peed and pooed so there's no more coming.

And now I realise that he hasn't even had a cold yet! At least I know what to expect now .

You change your shirt after a bit of sick on the back?!

Lummox - would like to add sick in the hair to your list.

eewww twitchet - another one I hadn't thought of.

oops - glad it's not just me spilling stuff on myself as well as baby gloop. am sure that i am spilling more tea and coffee and stuff just to complement ds's efforts.

milward · 17/10/2005 19:12

when bf baby wees & it leaks out of the nappy covering me - have to decide whether to wake up little one who is sleeping in my arms for bath & change or let them sleep alittle longer

DS2 was very sicky as a baby. Very healthy, just inclined to posset up bits of unused half-digested milk. So my left shoulder constantly smelled like off parmesan. Gah.

DS1 threw up on his dad, while sitting on his shoulders, when he was 3. And he told me about it: "I gave daddy a shower! From myself!". Daddy was a bit less enthusiastic about the experience, strangely.
