Breast pads - the work of the devil

Has anyone got any ingenious ideas or product suggestions for breast pads? After 3 months of bf I have grown to loathe the frikin things The disposable ones end up back to front with the sticky tab fastened to my nipple and the washable ones make me look like I'm smuggling giant sherbet flying saucers.

Anyway shouldn't i be beyond leak worries by now and my boobs be in total harmony?

Please advise so I can plan my escape from perpetual sweaty sticky ugly pad wearing!

I used tommee tippee ones both times but never stuck them in. I needed them until ds1 was 10 months and am upto 22 weeks with ds2, although unless he's been a while without a feed and I'm wearing a bra I don't leak but I'm too worried to go out without them! Good luck with the hankies!

Ah heroshrew - coaster stories are the best...
I walked into my kitchen to find my builder who was laying a new floor sat having a break with his cuppa resting on one of my washable (but used) breastpads. I was chuckling inwardly and keeping schtum when he politely asked if I had another coaster that was dry cos the one he was using wasn't and he was afraid to mark the table...! I grabbed another dry breastpad from the clothes horse and handed it to him. Then had to exit and belly laugh in the bedroom Grin

btw marthapants - I think I've got to the stage of breast equilibrium now (DC2 5 months) so no breastpads needed. There is the odd occasion out and about though when I'm past a feedtime or annoyingly like last night having a glass of wine with a friend when her 2 year old woke up with a bad dream and she had to go cuddle her. The sound of her tears over the monitor gave me 2 huge wet discs across my not very milk friendly new posh top that was proudly getting a 'first night out away from kids' wearing....Hmm

I can see how the Avent ones could get mistaken for coasters - which is why i think they are a bit rubbish and would look wierd under a tight top.

Seriously ladies, try the motherease ones. You will never look back.
