We -

  • ff
  • wind him half way through and at end of feed
  • use infancol and gripe water
  • know the key positions to wind him in (leaning him forward, over shoulder, or use Tiger position when he's windy, and hold up him upright for a while after feed)
  • massage him
  • do bycycle legs with him

Yesterday he had a mad mad fit of crying, worse than he's had before. I honestly thought he was really ill until he let loose a HUGE chain of farts, so loud and intense, I thought he was having a massive poo.

Don't want to go through that again if I can help it. He's 10 weeks. Any additional thoughts?

I found dr brown bottles to be a big help

Osteopathy helped. After just one session. Could it be the formula you're using?

foxytocin · 06/02/2011 12:03

change his formula?

Panzee · 06/02/2011 12:04

Do you feed him upright too?

Thanks all

We use Dr Brown Bottles
And I've taken him to a cranial several times and yes, it has helped - he had his jabs this week since the last appointment, so maybe that's added to his grumpiness?

We do feed him upright

Never thought about the formula - that's a good thought

A warm mini heatpad on the tummy helps my DD. I have a small rice/lavender heatpad I made as a hand warmer and I put it on her tummy warm (not hot).

Maybe try colief in case it's a temporary lactase deficiency?

Sleeping tiger position helps my DD too.
