Cooking with bm?

How much of the beneficial properties of bm are destroyed by cooking with it?

Just wondering: I've never really bothered with expressing but I'm doing some now while DS is on strike due to illness, so I actually have some bm available.

for whom?

(I know I really shouldn't ask!!!)

Not really sure the answer to this but my DD is allergic to milk and I occasionally use my milk to make her porridge. Its lovely and creamy compared to her having it made with water. Will be interested to see what others say as I'd like to cook other things - maybe a white sauce?

Well I suppose if you boiled it's head off, a lot of the goodness would be destroyed. Why not used baby porridge or ready brek instead of porridge oats and then you don't need to boil the milk, just warm it.

It's for DS. :)

I did make some, but I tried giving him some ebm in a cup and he drank it, much to my surprise & relief (he is on nursing strike). So I think that's what I'll do with the rest of my supply.
