Hi, not quite sure how to word this, hope it makes sense!!!

I fed my last bubs for 13mths, and my periods returned after 9mths. They were regular, every 24/25days straight away. This time my periods returned after 4mths (boo!!!!) however, after having my first period, I haven't had another I'm wondering if other peoples periods have been a little erratic when they first come back......

Any advice gratefully received-I feel like I don't know what my own body is doing lol!!!!

Hi,
How is your baby sleeping at night?

I'm exclusively breastfeeding my DD (15 weeks.)

Between 6 and 12 weeks she was sleeping 9pm - 7am consistently, which triggered a light period at 12 weeks.

On day two of that period, DD started to wake during the night for feeds again and it seemed to stop my period in it's tracks, and it hasn't returned as she's still waking.

I'm sure I read somewhere that lengthy spells of sleep are enough to start you off again. With DD1 I was pretty regular when they re-started when I weaned at 4 months (12 yrs ago!)

My periods started again 6 weeks after birth, only 2 weeks after my lochia stopped. Straight away they went back to every 25 days, and quite heavy.

I was EBF at the time, and DS was feeding every 2-3 hours all day and night.

Could be genetic as my mum was pregnant with my little sis when I was 10 weeks and I was EBF. Same for her mum!
Ask your mum??

Kellymom has some info. I think it's normal for them to be erratic at first, although I've not had mine back yet after 13 months.

Mine came back after 3 months and were erratic until i stopped breastfeeding.
