I'm doing the light show for a panto. LO has been to every rehearsal and show so far- she's even been on stage for a final bow. Grin

So far i've managed to bf throughout but Saturday is the final aftershow party. I'd like to stay for it and have a drink.

My question is will my boobs be able to stand it if I give her a FF bottle from about 9pm through to morning? I could express when I get home about 3am, although not tried expressing yet. I'd also have to give her a FF bottle in the night if I'd had a drink -planning on 5-6 units Blush

I could even leave her at home with DH but then it would be from 7pm until the following morning, and that might be risky in case she doesn't take to the bottle.

Will my boobs be too uncomfortable and will it massively affect my supply?

Your boobs will be massively uncomfortable by the morning I would think, but as a one off I wouldn't worry about supply too much so long as breastfeeding is going well. My ds was sleeping 6 hours at night at 6 weeks and it was fine.

You'll need to get some practice expressing, make sure your dd will take a bottle and make sure she'll tolerate formula in advance though.

Your boobs will be very sore, and rock hard!
You will be desperate to feed your lo by the morning. Though, obv, this is just my experience!
I would have a go at expressing first, you will prob need some relief.
Enjoy your Wine

One of the joys of tiny babies is their portability.

Take her and her car seat with you. It won't do her any harm to sleep in the cas seat for once 9or you could take her moses basket if you'd rather. Then you can stay out as long as you like!

Yes your boobs will definatly be very sore you won't be able to get away without expressing I don't know if a blocked duct/mastitis could be a problem also.

If you can express though I can't see any other problem. Have a great night and enjoy yourself Smile

Thanks for all your replies.

seeker I have been taking her with me so far but just worried about 'drunken mother in charge of newborn' headlines.Grin

It didn't occur to me that she might not tolerate formula - I'll try her with a bit tonight just to see. Also good to be aware of the blocked ducts issue!
