Freezing breastmilk

Hi all, just a quick query.
Finally we have enough milk to freeze some :) but I cant remember if I can freeze a small amount in the bag one day and then add to it or if I'm 'supposed' to just keep it in the fridge till there's 6oz or so and then just freeze the lot. I don't really want lots of 1 or 2 oz bags in the freezer if I can avoid it

You can keep expressed milk in the fridge for up to 5 days if thats any help.

Keep it towards to back of the fridge .

I remember reading that but thought it was a choice between keeping it in the fridge for a few days or freezing it pretty much straight away? Can you keep it in the fridge then freeze it later? Im trying to build up a stock for a couple of nights out so my Mum can babysit but DD feeds so much (11 weeks, possibly another growth spurt?) that I don't have much to spare

You can freeze it within those five days.

Or you could go with the 1 or 2 oz bags and then defrost them together to make a bigger feed.

I only ever got a couple of ounces max each time I expressed. I'd keep it in fridge then add to it and freeze once there was 5 or 6 oz. I wouldn't open the bags to add to them once frozen in case they split plus they are sterile so it wouldn't be good practice (I imagine) to keep opening and re-sealing them.
