Oversupply and colief

DS and I have all the typical signs of oversupply. I had the same issue with DD1 and DD2 and managed to make use of the extra milk by donating it. This time I don't seem to have a spare second in the day to worry about expressing as I have three children under four. I don't know if this is why DS is struggling so much more.

Anyway, I've been block feeding without much apparent effect on my supply (I was a bit Shock at an article on kellymom that suggested that 4oz of milk from one breast could be oversupply when I happily get 6oz off of each side). DS is still incredibly windy/colicky and still has a sore bottom. I'm wondering if now is the time to give in and try some colief until he grows into my supply? I'm very sceptical about whether it would help but infacol and gripe water just seem to make him more uncomfortable by gathering all the air that he's swallowed into some absolutely massive burps. He also has an incredibly windy bottom that bothers him a lot.

I don't know what else to try. Any ideas? Will colief help him? Is colief worth the hassle?

TIA

How many hours are you block feeding for? I think I read on here someone saying they needed to do 12 hours each side to get it under control.

6 hours. Maybe I need to up the hours? I do wonder if I should pop back to Breastfeeding babes (the BF counsellors at our hospital - amazing women) and do so with their guidance. I don't want to do anything to the detriment of DS. Mind you, he had his six week check today and is putting more than enough weight on.

With block feeding, you can increase the hours gradually until it's under control. If it isn't under control at 6 hours, go to seven for a few days and then eight and so on, until the green poos settle down and your baby is more comfortable. If you have a fast letdown that won't necessarily go away even when the supply is reduced, but he will grow into it.

IME Colief is such a faff it's easier to block feed.

There is no harm at all in seeing the counsellors before you make further changes though - makes sense to get professional help, that's what they're there for :)
