Anyone successfully weaned a 10 month old who's never had a bottle?

DD2. She's biting me, pulling my hair and sticking her fingers up my nose. She's started nursery (only 2 days a week so far) and obviously my boobs aren't available there. I'm back at work in a couple of weeks and there may just need to be the odd night when I can't get back for bedtime, so unless DH starts lactating, we need a plan B.

In short, it's getting to be time, for me.

But evidently not for her - she's yet to take milk from any other source, we've tried various teats, bottles, cups, sippy cups and those irritating 'no spill' thingies that even I can't manage to suck anything out of.

Anyone been through this, and can offer any pearls of wisdom - I currently feel like I'm going to still be BFing her when she's at university... Hmm

Pleeeeaaaasse!!

I went back to work when DD was 10 months. I stressed myself out for months beforehand and couldn't get her to take milk in any other way than from the breast. In the end my mum told me to leave her with a few bottles of expressed milk and just go to work, and within hours of me leaving the house she was happily taking a bottle. I still breastfed her at bedtime until she began to find drawing blood funny and then I weaned her off the breast within days!

I've been back at work for almost one month and DD is now 9 1/2 months. She still doesn't take milk from a bottle/cup/beaker - only mummy's breast will do! I now bf her before nursery and at bedtime, which seems to work for us. Was a bit worried that she's not getting enough milk but been assured that as long as she eats a varied diet, incl some dairy, she will be just fine! Smile
Had planned to stop breast before returning to work, but looks like I'll continue for another couple of months... Good thing she's only got two teeth so far LOL
